Terms of Service for BucketBook

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the BucketBook mobile application (“App,” “Service,” or “we”). By downloading, installing, or using BucketBook, you agree to these Terms.

1. Description of Service

BucketBook is a basketball statistics tracking application designed for individuals to record and analyze basketball game statistics. The App allows you to:

  • Create and manage player profiles
  • Record game statistics including shots, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, turnovers, and fouls
  • Track shot locations on an interactive court diagram
  • Organize games into seasons
  • View statistical summaries and analytics
  • Set and track goals (e.g., “Score 15 points in a game” or “Average 8 PPG this season”)
  • View career highs and personal bests
  • Compare performance across seasons or time periods
  • Share game summaries as images

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Users under 18 may use the App under parental supervision. By creating an account, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Accounts

Account Creation

Creating an account is optional. The App functions fully without an account using local device storage. If you choose to create an account, you must provide a valid email address and password (minimum 6 characters).

Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.

Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through the Settings screen. Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Deleting your account will:

  • Remove all your data from our cloud servers
  • Delete your local database on the current device
  • Terminate any active subscription (though you retain access until the current billing period ends)

4. Subscription Terms

Free Tier

The App offers a free tier with the following limits:

  • 1 player
  • 10 games
  • 2 seasons
  • Local device storage only

Pro Subscription

BucketBook Pro removes these limits and adds additional features:

  • Up to 5 players
  • Unlimited games
  • Unlimited seasons
  • Cloud backup and sync across devices

Billing

  • Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
  • Payment is charged to your App Store or Play Store account
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription through your device’s account settings

Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective policies. We do not process refunds directly.

Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription prices. Price changes will not affect your current billing period and you will be notified before any change takes effect.

5. User Content

Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you create in the App, including player profiles, game statistics, notes, and photos. By using cloud sync features, you grant us a limited license to store and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

Content Restrictions

You agree not to upload content that:

  • Infringes on any third party’s intellectual property rights
  • Contains malicious code or files
  • Violates any applicable law

Player Photos

If you upload photos of other individuals (such as players you are tracking), you represent that you have the right to use those images and any necessary consent from the individuals or their guardians.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App only for its intended purpose of tracking basketball statistics. You agree not to:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users’ data
  • Use the App to transmit harmful code or interfere with the Service
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Use the App for any illegal purpose
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent subscription limits

7. Data and Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the App, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Intellectual Property

Our Rights

BucketBook, including its design, features, code, and branding, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or other brand features.

Feedback

If you provide suggestions or feedback about the App, you grant us the right to use that feedback without restriction or compensation.

9. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services including:

  • Supabase for authentication and cloud storage
  • RevenueCat for subscription management
  • Apple App Store / Google Play Store for payment processing

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

10. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

We are not responsible for the accuracy of statistics you record or any decisions made based on data in the App.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, OR PROFITS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP.

Our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party’s rights.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms in the App and updating the “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

16. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall first be attempted to be resolved through informal negotiation. If we cannot resolve the dispute informally, you agree to resolve any claims through binding arbitration on an individual basis, rather than through class actions or class arbitrations.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and BucketBook regarding your use of the App.
